The Matterhorn: Dive into Deliciousness at Stowe’s Premier Sushi Bar

I thought the place is really cool place to eat I had the clam chowder and was excellent. Service was great friendly. we sat by the river which is beautiful room love it here

Great service, food, and atmosphere! Our waitress was very good and the food options were great for those with food restrictions. Would recommend to Stowe visitors.

I was afraid the service would be bad. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and lunch on Sunday, both in Summer. The service was very attentive and fast. we sat outside by the bubbling brook both times, which was an excellent place to sit. We liked the sushi, especially the Mango Tango. The lobster rolls were fine, and we'd get them again, but they don't compare to what we can get back home in Boston. The other food, fries and dumplings, were good, although I'd probably not get the dumplings again as they were a bit overcooked. This was our 11th trip to Stowe but the first time we'd ever eaten here. A bartender at a different restaurant recommended this place for the sushi and outdoor seating. (It's his favorite spot). This is definitely going to be a go to place for us in future visits.

The food is always good here. Not so much the service. I understand short staffed, but our order was not difficult and came out one at a time.

My sister and I were looking for a place to go to dinner, the hotel we were staying at recommended this establishment. It was very busy when we arrived. The parking was tight, but there were spaces available. We went inside, it was very loud and crowded, so much so it was hard to follow the hostess to our table. We were asked whether we wanted to sit at the bar or the dining room and we said the dining room and were surprised when we were seated at a small table right next to the bar. Servers were friendly and we didn't have to wait long. We ordered an appetizer and two drinks. Both were good. It was hard to hear each other but the atmosphere was upbeat and it seems like people were having fun. We both ordered the naked burger salad for dinner. I ordered mine medium, and when we got it, it was actually pretty rare which was OK we didn't have time to wait so I ate it the way it was and it was good.

People come too hard for this place, Matterhorn is just an absolute cornerstone of the Stowe après scene! Matterhorn is situated on a snowy, babbling brook with a delicious eclectic menu ranging from your bar classics like wings, to surprisingly good sushi and what my husband refers to as bar pizza which was solid. This is a must visit when in town, check the schedule for live music and make reservations for a table accordingly because it will get busy. Some of the bartenders could be friendlier but overall service is good.

Stayed in Stowe for almost a week. Everyone said we had to eat here! We were surprised by how eclectic the menus was! Sushi one night, burgers another night, appetizers another night. Everyone is right, definitely stop by if you are in the area! Sitting by the big window with the river flowing just outside is very ZEN!
